All The Words (Jewel)

All the words I wish your fingers could feel

all the times I've wished

you could know

the silent sorrow

lying stiff in my throwat

like cold

and broken teeth

I wish you could hear

the child the cries

in my flesh and make

my bones ache

I wish you could speak to my fear

I wish you could hold me

in your arms like oceans

and soothe what my muscles remember

all the bruises, all the sour hope

all the screams and scraped knees

the cloudy days so dark

I wondered if my eyes

were even open

The days that I felt

like August, and that I, too

would soon turn

to Fall

Mercy (Jewel)

I'm leaving

You're done

Cut the cord

I will bare my hear

Make sure it's sharp

Make it quick

Flash your will against me

relieve this red smear

Smother the beating

dull the pulse

Show mercy

Spare it from your side

and I will rip

what was yours, what ws living in me,

and return it to you.

Do it while our hears

are still intact

before they rot in each other's care

before they become riddled with bitterenss

choked by the stinking seeds

of resentment.

Compass (Jewel)

Together we have sensed distance

stretch its defeating spine

between our hears, and felt the

haunted gales of vacancy fill

the hollows of our eyes with wandering.

THere is no theif to blame who has stolen the warmth from

our kisses; departure has been gradual,

by degrees.

    Because I love you

I will not send you into the night

with teeth marks and pride I have

stripped you of. I will draw

a compass on your belly, and you

will tell my heart that it's okay

before we turn each other loose beneath

the endless sky. Let us be still

Tell the arms not to worry so.

Disarm the tongue of its dagger

      and listen.

Such cold beuty exists here

Do you see it? Lik ethe landscape,

frozen, waiting to be born.

We talk (Jewel)

We talk

    slowly

about nothing

about movies

    we stick to

surface streets

    and find no

meaning in café windows

no substance in

    hotel rooms

I used to unwrap you!

tender layers unfolding

like eager gold

    but now

we care cool

and recount

our daily bores

    as though

the sum of our

    uses

equaled

    something

substantial

    while softer

things shrivel

    and dry roots

go unfed

    strangled

by the phone line

and all

    that is

    not said

Insecurity (Jewel)

you don't call

I check again

I become uneasy--

    is this a frame?

Suddenly I'm not so sure

I check my sources

each conversation becomes a crumb

how easily I'm led

how stupid I've been

to believe

you could be

loving me

you who can not be secduced

by antyhign other than

the temperance

of need

    each one facilitation the next

and suddenly I see my place

the phone rings

you say hello

but I don't believe you

P.S. (Jewel)

I wrote you those nice

poems only because

the honest ones

would frighten you

Love (T.J.)

Love,

what is love?

for what it seems, does ones word have a meaning?

It’s one of many things

True or not, it’s there

It lingers softly nearby

And, tickles your smiling face as you walk by

You can’t avoid it

No matter how you try

When you find that someone,

Love looks you straight in the eye

You can’t turn away,

For it will still be there

As it always is.

And when times are hard

It’s there, It makes you think about anyone

Sometimes one you didn’t know you liked till then

But now you know,

When one relationship is over,

You swore you’d never love again

Yet you did

And twas to my misfortune

the one you loved

For you are far greater than I in this game of love

love is mearly stepping stones in this game of life,

one roles the die,

And your turn has come.

You walk along,

not knowing what you will become,

Not simply caring.

But the roll takes you to you’re most unsatisfiable place

The hell in which you live,

The hell in which you cannot escape,

This hell called life, which love obediently follows behind so closely

And never dares leave it’s sight.

Starlight Extracted (Luna)

The moon is dazed tonight.

Dizzied up into the fire.

A shaking light of screaming explosion.

The wonder and the fear.

Torn apart reality in one glimmering moment,

Of sweet ransom depth,

And the look of those eyes,

Oh, the look in those eyes,

Such complete beauty,

Totally completly full of love.

To fall apart into dissolved waves.

Oh, how the moon is dazed tonight,

She is full of silver,

And full of purity,

But she is so dazed this night,

She cannot sleep.

The white dazzle of gone.

The black so full of stars.

Sighing in the after.

But for now it leaves a burn,

And thinking is sublime in this emotion,

For the moon is dazed tonight.

Artificial (Luna)

To be sure,

To be perfectly sure,

I know the blueness you percieve.

I can see right through your eyes,

The windy green of silver within your soul,

The beauty you neglect.

So much potential,

Unrealized.

Untitled (Kablek: The Fish)

hit the streets and fight back,

moral shields for a moral attack,

High values, low ethics,

expensive tastes, cheap gimmicks."
